Who we are

Acacia Lifestyle operates acacialifestyle.com, a women's lifestyle publication covering fashion, home decor, fitness, health & beauty, and gifting. We are based in California, United States.

Information we collect

Automatically collected

When you visit our site, we automatically receive:

  • IP address (anonymized before storage in Google Analytics)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time on page, and referring URLs
  • General geographic region (country/state — never street-level)

This data is processed through Google Analytics 4 and used only to understand how readers use our site so we can improve our content.

Information you provide

  • Newsletter: If you subscribe, we collect your email address. We use it only to send the newsletter. We do not sell or rent this list.
  • Contact form: We collect your name, email, subject, and message. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

Cookies

We use cookies and local storage for these purposes:

  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4): Cookies named _ga, _gid, and _ga_* distinguish returning visitors and track sessions. They persist for up to 2 years. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies.
  • Functional: We store a small flag in your browser's local storage to remember if you have dismissed our cookie notice. This is not a tracking cookie.

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or social tracking pixels.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic and reader behavior. We have configured it with the following privacy-protective settings:

  • IP anonymization enabled — your full IP address is never stored
  • Google Signals disabled — no cross-device or demographic tracking
  • Ad personalization signals disabled — your data is not used for ad targeting

Google processes analytics data under Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Affiliate links

Acacia Lifestyle participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate advertising programs. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Articles containing affiliate links are disclosed at the top of the article. We do not receive personal information about your purchases from these programs.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics 4 — website analytics (see above)
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on our contact form. Cloudflare processes the minimum data needed to verify human interaction; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Sanity.io — content management system. Sanity does not interact with visitor data.
  • Vercel — hosting. Vercel may log request metadata (IP, user agent) for security and performance; see Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Data retention

  • Google Analytics data: 14 months
  • Newsletter subscriber emails: until you unsubscribe
  • Contact form submissions: 12 months

California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You may request a list of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell personal information for money. However, sharing website usage data with Google Analytics may constitute "sharing" under CCPA. You can opt out using the method below.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a CCPA right.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

To opt out of the sharing of your browsing data with Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Once installed, Google Analytics will no longer receive data from your browser on any website.

To submit a Right to Know, Delete, or Correct request, email hello@acacialifestyle.com with the subject line "CCPA Request" and describe what you are requesting. We will respond within 45 days as required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Children's privacy

Acacia Lifestyle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on the site. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
